How I'm Becoming the Best Version of Myself: Physically (Part 2)

Now that I poured my heart out in "How I'm Becoming the Best Version of Myself: Physically (Part 1)" about my background and history when it comes to my health and my body and you've seen where I've been, it's time I share where I'm going.

When I sat down to visualize what the best version of myself physically is like, I decided that she is fit and healthy but not over the top or obsessed. It's a priority, just not number one. She feels confident in her body, feels great on a day to day basis and knows she will live a long and healthy life. She enjoys a balanced diet of foods that are nutrient dense and fuel her along with some less nutrient dense foods in moderation when she wants them. There are no restrictions or rules, aside from the fact that she has to be gluten free due to Celiac Disease (womp womp womp!). She works out on a regular basis because it makes her feel strong, confident, empowered and helps to clear her mind when needed. She can squat and deadlift at least twice her body weight, she can do ten pull ups without rest and 20 push ups without rest. I also have a picture of what she looks like in my mind, but I won't go into detail on that as everyone's image of a healthy body they feel great in is different.

Next, just as I said in step two of "How I'm Becoming the Best Version of Myself: The Plan", I thought about what traits and habits that version of me has that makes her who she is. I decided that in 2021 she completed the LIVE HARD program by Andy Frisella. (If you want me to go into detail about this, comment below and I will in a future post.) It's something I've wanted to do for a long time to improve my health and fitness as well as my perseverance and belief in myself. In addition, it builds amazing habits that will contribute to me becoming Brittany (aka the best version of myself) in every way. I attempted it this past summer and made it 42 days before I made a mistake. She also gets at least seven hours of sleep each night and drinks a gallon of water everyday. She is committed to keeping her promises to herself and others and maintaining a balanced healthy lifestyle to ensure she lives a long and happy life. Lastly, she takes care of her body through self care on a regular basis.

Based on my vision of who the best version of me is and what traits and habits she has, I decided on the goals I wanted to set for myself. The big goal is to live a balanced healthy life but that isn't specific enough, so how will I do that?

  1. I'm going to workout at least four days per week with strength training, running, walking and HIIT workouts. I will complete the workouts in the mornings before work most weeks.

  2. I'm going to drink a gallon of water everyday from my gallon water bottle that I got from Amazon. (Let me know if you want a link.)

  3. I'm going to ensure that I have a good protein source and veggies at at least two of my meals every day.

  4. I'm going to go to bed at 9 pm and wake up at 5 am Monday thru Friday. On Saturday and Sunday I'll allow myself to stay up later and sleep in as long as I get at least 7 hours of sleep.

  5. I'm going to ensure that I keep up with my skincare routine (face and body) every day, including sunscreen.

  6. I'm going to take the vitamins and/or supplements I personally need every day.

So there you have it, my vision of what the best version of myself is like physically and how I'm going to get there.

What's the best version of yourself like physically? What goals do you have to propel you forward to becoming that person?

Hi, thanks for stopping by!

Hey there, I'm Brittany! Welcome to my blog where I'll be documenting my journey to becoming my best self! The last few years have been a roller coaster to say the least. I went through a significant trauma and found myself in the deepest, darkest place I'd ever been. I was struggling with anxiety and depression more than ever and knew I had to find a way to pull myself out of it. Through the healing process (and lots of therapy), I didn't expect to change so much, but I've come out of it a new person...
