How I'm Becoming the Best Version of Myself: Useful Tools and Accountability

Alright, so I've covered what the best, most badass version of me is going to be like and how I plan to get there in each area of my life. I cannot wait to look back at my journey when I've achieved all of those goals. I know I'm going to be so proud. Right now though, I have to admit, I'm a little scared. Not only have I set some big, audacious goals for myself, but I've shared them on a public platform for anyone in the world to see so if I slack off or give up or don't achieve them, it's going to hurt in more ways than one. Embarrassment being number one. So to keep that from happening and keep myself on track I'm going to be using some tools.
First, to maintain my self confidence and belief that I can and will achieve all of these things, I will be using daily affirmations. I'm going to write them in my journal and then read them to myself out loud. I used to think daily affirmations were silly. I didn't understand how they could possibly work until I learned the importance of way we speak to ourselves in therapy. I now know that if you tell yourself something enough, you start to believe it.
Speaking of journaling affirmations, I have my bullet journal set up and ready for use all the way through the end of February with designated areas for my prayer journaling, regular journaling, affirmations and gratitude list. Doing all of this journaling will be part of the morning routine I've created to set myself up for success, which I'll be sharing in a future post. My journal also includes monthly and quarterly goal check-ins and a monthly habit tracker, where I can hold myself accountable for the things I need to do on a daily basis to hit my goals, such as drinking a gallon of water, journaling and meditating. I'm happy to share my bullet journal set up and my habit tracker if anyone is interested.
Another must have to keep on track..apps. Let's go through them..
I have the Calm app for meditating (and for sleep because ya girl has problems falling asleep!). Heads up, if you have an American Express credit card, you can get a year of the paid version of the Calm App for free if you sign up before the end of December. This isn't an ad, but I'm all about sharing ways to save money.
Speaking of money, I also have the Google Sheets app where I can access and edit my budget easily from my phone. It comes in handy when I'm not at home or near my laptop but I do prefer to edit and create my monthly budgets on my laptop so I don't mess anything up with my little sausage fingers. Financial apps such as my bank app, credit card app (where I make my payments), etc. also help me stay on track and keep up with my budget.
For workouts, I have the Alive app by Whitney Simmons. She has workout programs for the gym as well as at home and a whole library of individual workouts grouped by workout type, muscle groups, home, etc. I'm currently on week four of the Alive 1.0 program and I'm loving it. Again, this is not an ad, I just love this app. It's worth every bit of the $15 per month I pay for it. When I begin the Live Hard Program on January 1 with 75 Hard, I may or may not get the 75 Hard app as well..I'll keep you updated.
Next is a group of apps. Audible, Kindle, Podcasts and Youtube. These apps are great for helping me meet my reading goal as well as listening to and/or watching content that aligns with my goals. I've decided that during this journey, most of the content I take in should align with my goals to help keep me focused. For example, when I walk my dog first thing in the morning, I throw my headphones on and listen to an audiobook or podcast on self development, personal finance, health and fitness or something along those lines.
In summary, a bullet journal and some really awesome apps will be instrumental to my success on this journey to becoming Brittany, aka the best version of myself, aka a total badass. Both of these will be included the morning and night routines I've created to keep myself on track, which I'll be sharing in a future post.
What tools are you guys using to keep yourselves on track to reach your goals?
